Family Voices Joins Children’s Health Advocates to React to Affordable Care Act Ruling

Washington, DC – Family Voices joined seven of the nation’s leading child health and advocacy organizations to react to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling today to uphold the Affordable Care Act (ACA):
“We’re very pleased the Supreme Court upheld the entire Affordable Care Act,” said Family Voices Executive Director Sophie Arao-Nguyen. “The law is a great step forward in protecting and improving the health of all children, including children and youth with special health care needs and disabilities. Today’s ruling means these vulnerable children will continue to enjoy the critical protections afforded by the law, such as bans on pre-existing condition exclusions, lifetime limits, and all annual limits on insurance coverage as of 2014. We’re grateful young adults can still be covered under their parents’ insurance…

The Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision on the health care reform law this Thursday, 6/28, at about 10:00 AM ET.  Below are some resources that will help you to understand the decision.  (Dates assume that the decision is, in fact, issued on Thursday.) :

The Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision on the health care reform law this Thursday, 6/28, at about 10:00 AM ET.  Below are some resources that will help you to understand the decision.  (Dates assume that the decision is, in fact, issued on Thursday.) :
SCOTUSblog, a website specializing in the Supreme Court, will do live blog-casting beginning at 9:00 AM ET Thursday.  They have provided a URL dedicated to the blog -- scotusblog.wpengine.com – which they suggest going to directly, but that is not currently working.  If that still isn’t working on Friday, just go to www.scotusblog.com to get redirected.
