The 21st Century Cures Act directs Medicaid programs to require personal care service and home health service providers to use an electronic visit verification (EVV) system to document services rendered. The implementation date for requiring the use of an EVV system for personal care services has been delayed to January 1, 2021. The implementation date for requiring the use of an EVV system for home health services remains January 1, 2023. More information about the implementation and FAQs can be found in BT2020123.
