The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is seeking applicants to join a Patient and Family Advisory Board (PFAB) for the Developing a Patient-Centered Complex Care Research Agenda project. Through the PFAB, CHCS will partner with people who experience complex health care needs (including mental health and/or substance use conditions) and social needs (for example, challenges related to housing, food access, and transportation), and whose incomes have not always covered basic living expenses. The PFAB will help inform and guide the project, which is focused on exploring how these health, social and economic needs make managing health conditions more difficult, and will help complex care programs develop solutions to make our health care systems better. CHCS anticipate the time commitment to be 25-30 hours from October 2021 to July 2022. Connections in Health (affiliated with Indiana CTSI), the Indiana University Bloomington School of Public Health, and the IU Center for Rural Engagement are interested in identifying new and existing community health coalitions addressing concerns related to physical, social, and emotional well-being in local counties. We are also assessing the types of organizations that are leading coalitions in local counties and reasons for participation. We are looking for individuals 18 years of age and older participating in Indiana local coalitions to complete a 5- to 10-minute survey. Follow this link to participate in the study
From Jake's Desk IHCDA will be administering the Housing Assistance Fund (HAF) which is an assistance program for homeowners experiencing a hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this month the U.S. Department of Treasury issued additional guidance for the HAF program. Following this, Treasury opened its online portal for submission of state HAF plans. IHCDA submitted its state plan to Treasury last week. Treasury has not provided a timetable for how long the approval process will take for state plans. IHCDA continues to take steps to ensure it can begin accepting applications as soon as possible once Treasury approval is received. General homeowner eligibility requirements for HAF are listed below. Other restrictions may apply depending on the type of mortgage assistance sought by the homeowner. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled to end the temporary stay on a lower court ruling invalidating the federal eviction moratorium issued by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This means the CDC’s August 3 eviction moratorium is no longer in effect, putting millions of households at risk of eviction.
